Narwhal Fall 2026 -- Email Version

Hello parents of Narwhal middle schoolers.  Below is an email that was sent to returning families and other friends of the program.

• Minnetonka is now included in the list of teams during MNU fall registration
• Use the code MinnetonkaFall2026 to eliminate the $60 league fee that will be covered by MCEC. The $20 annual membership fee is still due.

The season is fast approaching with our first practices next week!  Our first Saturday doubleheader is September 12.

The registration process will again be through MCE with an additional $20 academic-year registration fee due to MNU.  This dual registration process is consistent with last spring and also with Narwhal high school registration.  Unfortunately, MNU did not make this option available for middle school until after the MCE Fall 2026 catalog was published.  Please use this link to find the MCE registration page:

While player registration remains open into the early league season, the Narwhal have to complete our team registration (i.e., number of teams & division) by August 31.  As such, we encourage everyone to complete their player sign-up in August.

Because Minnetonka is starting the school year before Labor Day, we will actually have 2 weeks of practice before our first league doubleheader.  Please encourage your children to bring a friend to practice even if they haven't registered yet.  We are hoping to grow the program!

Key dates:

• League doubleheaders on Saturdays 9/12-10/10
• MME practices 4:15-5:30 Tuesdays beginning 9/1
• MMW practices 4:15-5:30 Wednesdays beginning 9/2
• Optional open play Mondays 4:15-5:30 at MME beginning 9/14

All players are welcome to all practices.  We understand if they arrive late if they are coming from the other middle school.

The middle school Saturday doubleheader games will begin at 3:00.  There is an additional league option for FMPs (girls) who want to play some extra ultimate in a girls-only format earlier Saturday afternoons.  Here is the MNU information emailed to coaches:

Girls & FMP-only Fall League:

Players can participate in both!

We're thrilled to be piloting a U14 Girls & FMP fall learner league! This league aims to provide beginner and intermediate players ages 10-14 the opportunity to learn ultimate in an FMP-centered setting. 

 Girls & FMPs ages 10-14. 

 Saturdays, 1:15pm to 2:40pm 

 Lake Nokomis Fields

 Players sign up as individuals or with a friend and will be placed on teams.

 45 mins practice time, 40 mins game time each week.

 Players can participate in BOTH the U14 Girls & FMP learner league AND with a mixed or open division team in the team-based U14 Fall League.

 $20 (MNU membership) or FREE if already participating with a mixed team in the U14 Fall League. 

 Coaching provided by community volunteers and high school-aged FMP peer mentors!

There may be a cap on the total number of girls who can play in this league, so we encourage you to register early.

Practice fields - you may have noticed that both MMW and MME have had significant work on their school grounds.  We believe that our traditional meeting spots will still work at both schools, but please stay tuned.
